Lin Chuankai and Lin Chuanjie, the grandsons of Tatung Company founder's eldest son(Lin Tingsheng), have both presented impressive performance this summer after making a name for themselves.

Their father is Lin Zhenyuan(the second son of the second family). JET OPTO, helmed by the elder brother Lin Chuankai, is one of the world's top three car rear-seat entertainment system manufacturers, with record revenue of NT$3.064 billion last year. His younger brother, Lin Chuanjie, leads JEAN GROUP, which is well known for its fine residential properties and has recently launched a NT$16.78 billion land hunt.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the passing of Lin Zhenyuan. A person familiar with the Lin family told reporters that the two brothers had made their mark on their own without the patronage of the Tatung family's huge business and investment aids, which I believe will be a great honor to the soul of Lin Zhenyuan in heaven.

After JEAN GROUP's shareholders' meeting on 31 May, Lin Chuanjie, known as "the most handsome chairman born in the 80s", told the media, "JEAN GROUP is very popular in the real estate market and the demand would continue to grow in the future. There will be many opportunities to buy good land this year, but now we need to work harder to let more consumers know about JEAN GROUP."

JET OPTO, run by Lin Chuankai, has been developing rapidly, focusing on the design, manufacture and assembly of car recorders and peripheral accessories for rear-seat entertainment systems. JET OPTO acquired small factories before rear-seat entertainment became a trend, and has successfully entered the supply chain of major brands. The company is expected to submit its application for listing by the end of the third quarter of this year.

【Media News】Due to the geopolitical situation, JET OPTO has returned to Taiwan to set up a factory in Qianzhen, Kaohsiung, and will ship all of its products to U.S. factories from Taiwan. Chairman Jerry Lin said that since many Tier 1 companies do not have factories in Taiwan but have a demand to sell their products from Taiwan to the U.S., JET OPTO has thus "accidentally" started to receive the OEM orders from them. Lin Chuan-Kai, 40, studied economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara. After graduating in 2006, he was originally planning to join the financial industry in Hong Kong. At 2022 Taipei AMPA from April 20th to 23rd, JET OPTO will exhibit its key products for the past two years and provide corporate and potential customers with a complete understanding of the company's technological capabilities via a personalized presentation.
JET OPTO has already entered the supply chain of major car manufacturers in the European market and has become the Tier 1 supplier of Volkswagen Group. The audio and video platform is highly customized and designed with Linux architecture, and the design interface is discussed with the car manufacturers during the preliminary stage of system development. The interior design of the vehicle and the onboard system with Full HD resolution screen facilitate the connection and playback of video and audio content from cell phones and OTT.
Another highlight of the product is the adoption of Amazon's Fire OS. The chairman of JET OPTO, Jerry Lin, pointed out that there are currently only two companies worldwide that cooperate with Amazon to introduce Fire OS for cars, and JET OPTO is one of them. To provide a better experience, the Fire OS interface is greatly optimized, and passengers can quickly and easily watch Amazon Prime and other OTT videos in the car.
A smart driving recorder was launched targeting the Japanese market. By interfacing with different communication protocols in the car system, it not only incorporates ADAS functions, but also directly downloads the driving images and displays them on the central control panel of the car system through wireless transmission technology, which greatly enhances the convenience of use.

TAIPEI (The China Post) — Taiwan’s JET Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. (凱銳光電) plans to apply for a stock market listing on Taiwan Stock Exchange in the third quarter of 2022 amid soaring demand for in-car displays and rear-seat entertainment systems, JET Optoelectronics founder and chairman Jerry Lin (林傳凱) announced Tuesday. Lin said the company’s shares will start trading as an Emerging Stock over the counter (OTC) by the end of the year ahead of the planned IPO. The move is poised to raise the profile of JET Optoelectronics in the industry while generating the capital needed to further expand, Lin added.

Raising Demand for In-Car Entertainment

Amid reports that autonomous cars are coming and will revolutionize the way that people travel, the chairman stressed that commuters will surely ask for more entertainment in their cars. “What are you going to do in your self-driving car? Basically, watch online TV or watch whatever content that you have on your smartphone. “ Thanks to 5G, travelers will surely require the ability to stream content directly from their phones, he continued. “So those are the two platforms that we are working on,” he went on. “It’s really hard to say which will go mainstream because most auto automakers want different types of systems so that they can stand out against their competitors.” Against this backdrop, JET Optoelectronics is already working with major automakers to stream content on the entertainment system of a car, Lin unveiled, adding that the arrival of Level 3 (Conditional Driving Automation) and Level 4 (High Driving Automation) autonomous cars are poised to further boost demand for in-car entertainment. Jet Optoelectronics Co. has recently won the German iF World Design Award, where they had to compete among over 10,000 entries from 52 countries and regions. In the end, they were able to break through the tough competition and stood out in the Product Discipline Automobiles/Vehicles category with Hive BSM blindspot detector, A16X Car Dashcam and Monster Motorcycle cellphone holder. Jet Optoelectronics Co. also thanked the jury panel for recognizing their products, as well as the great efforts put in by their design team and their subsidiary companies, Vigorplus and Nextbase, throughout the whole process.
With the smart phones gaining widespread popularity, it has become an absolute necessity of our daily lives. Despite the wide range of cellphone holders for cars, motorcycles or bicycles available on the market for consumers to choose from, currently there isn’t a cellphone holder that can impeccably complement the exterior styles of bicycles and the steel exhaust pipes of heavy motorcycles. For that reason, by taking their inspiration from the chassis frame of the heavy street motorcycles, Jet Optoelectronics Co. had come up with a cellphone holder design that is much more polished, slim and dynamic, where the curvature is reminiscent of the classic features of heavy street motorcycles. The exterior design of this product’s frame is integrated nicely into the style of the motorcycle and bicycle’s body. That is why, it had won the German “iF Design Award 2021.”
The second product, the Hive BSM Blindspot Monitor, incorporated the world’s first 2-in-1 24Ghz NB millimeter-wave radar. Jet Optoelectronics Co. hoped that by having a universal installation design, it will allow the majority of the motorcycles to have the protective function of blindspot detection. The product will need to not only meet the safety requirement of heavy motorcyclists to travel at high speed, but more importantly, for motorcyclists such as food delivery drivers postmen and couriers who have to install large delivery box on the back of their motorcycles, a delivery box will cause a blindspot in the rearview mirror vision, making it even more necessary for them to install HIVE BSM to increase their work safety.
The third product was the A16X Car Dashcam. The subtle streamline curve of A16X is suited to all interior designs of a car. The modularized dual lens camera design improves the safety of the user, thus ensuring a better driving experience. This product allows the user to either use the front or rear dash cameras together or separately as they see fit. When both cameras are used at the same time, the front camera will capture the exterior details with the front recording, and the rear camera will record the interior of the car. Jet Optoelectronics Co. expressed that they will continue to develop more innovative products in the future so to provide drivers with a more integrated services.
The design director of Jet Optoelectronics Co., James Lin, said that the essence of design comes from ‘people,’ whether it be touch, auditory, visual or emotion, all are an indispensable part of the whole design. Taiwan-Based GTM Corporation, a publicly traded company, entered the solar market this year with JET Group. Green Energy Business Division of JET OPTO made the winning bid on the TSC (Taiwan Sugar Corporation) 4.5 MW project in August. The solar power generation system will be installed from Hsinchu to Chiayi, and the total capacity will reach to 10.5 MW once it is completed.
JET OPTO expressed that solar panels will be installed in about 30 areas including TSC various divisions such as marketing division, biotechnology division, leisure division, oil product division, merchandsing division and so on. Solar panels will also be installed on the roofs and parking areas in Kaohsiung branches. It is expected to be completed by April next year.
