Three products made by Jet Optoelectronics Co. was awarded the German iF World Design Award
Jet Optoelectronics Co. has recently won the German iF World Design Award, where they had to compete among over 10,000 entries from 52 countries and regions. In the end, they were able to break through the tough competition and stood out in the Product Discipline Automobiles/Vehicles category with Hive BSM blindspot detector, A16X Car Dashcam and Monster Motorcycle cellphone holder. Jet Optoelectronics Co. also thanked the jury panel for recognizing their products, as well as the great efforts put in by their design team and their subsidiary companies, Vigorplus and Nextbase, throughout the whole process.
With the smart phones gaining widespread popularity, it has become an absolute necessity of our daily lives. Despite the wide range of cellphone holders for cars, motorcycles or bicycles available on the market for consumers to choose from, currently there isn’t a cellphone holder that can impeccably complement the exterior styles of bicycles and the steel exhaust pipes of heavy motorcycles. For that reason, by taking their inspiration from the chassis frame of the heavy street motorcycles, Jet Optoelectronics Co. had come up with a cellphone holder design that is much more polished, slim and dynamic, where the curvature is reminiscent of the classic features of heavy street motorcycles. The exterior design of this product’s frame is integrated nicely into the style of the motorcycle and bicycle’s body. That is why, it had won the German “iF Design Award 2021.”
The second product, the Hive BSM Blindspot Monitor, incorporated the world’s first 2-in-1 24Ghz NB millimeter-wave radar. Jet Optoelectronics Co. hoped that by having a universal installation design, it will allow the majority of the motorcycles to have the protective function of blindspot detection. The product will need to not only meet the safety requirement of heavy motorcyclists to travel at high speed, but more importantly, for motorcyclists such as food delivery drivers postmen and couriers who have to install large delivery box on the back of their motorcycles, a delivery box will cause a blindspot in the rearview mirror vision, making it even more necessary for them to install HIVE BSM to increase their work safety.
The third product was the A16X Car Dashcam. The subtle streamline curve of A16X is suited to all interior designs of a car. The modularized dual lens camera design improves the safety of the user, thus ensuring a better driving experience. This product allows the user to either use the front or rear dash cameras together or separately as they see fit. When both cameras are used at the same time, the front camera will capture the exterior details with the front recording, and the rear camera will record the interior of the car. Jet Optoelectronics Co. expressed that they will continue to develop more innovative products in the future so to provide drivers with a more integrated services.
The design director of Jet Optoelectronics Co., James Lin, said that the essence of design comes from ‘people,’ whether it be touch, auditory, visual or emotion, all are an indispensable part of the whole design. It is hoped that through a transformation of ideology where the products are endowed with vitality and inspirational values, that this will lead the consumers to have different experiences and stories from its use. It will also be an important starting point in their product design in the future. They were thrilled with receiving three awards from the iF Design Award 2021, and were extremely honored to have the opportunity to prove the value in Taiwanese design.
